Litter Picking Team at the Burrs

The Brandlesholme Residents' Association Litter-picking Volunteers

The Burrs Country Park is a well-used and very pleasant asset right on the doorstep of our Brandlesholme community. With the financial cutbacks the Council has had to apply to the Burrs Rangers making it short-staffed, coupled with the unwiilingness of some visitors to the Park to take their rubbish home with them or put it in the rubbish bins, it has become a problem to deal with the litter that, if left lying around the Park, would spoil the public enjoyment of this amenity.
In response to an appeal for help from the Burrs, the Residents' Association has formed a volunteer team to pick up litter once a month. We are looking for further volunteers willing to give an hour or so of their time to this task. All the necessary equipment is provided for you. If you are able to help, kindly telephone Hilary Marshall (0161 797 9544) who will inform you of the date of the next Litter-pick and the time the team are meeting. Thank you very much.
